Rules and Regulations
Be Responsible
Paddling is an exciting and rewarding team sport, but it’s important to ensure it stays fun for everyone.
This starts with RESPECT—for the club’s rules, your teammates, and the environment we all share.
Before you dive in, please take a moment to review the SAFETY guidelines on the following pages to set yourself up for a safe and enjoyable experience. As a team sport, we rely on everyone to do their part:
-
RSVP for sessions via Team App and always show up on time.
-
If you’re running late or need to cancel last minute, notify the session lead as soon as possible.
We’re confident that each member is a responsible and considerate teammate. Let’s paddle forward together!
Anti-Doping
To ensure fair play, all athletes must observe the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Prohibited List. Whether you’re racing locally or abroad under Anti-Doping Singapore (ADS), the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) or any regional body, you are bound by their doping rules.
Key points:
-
Check before you medicate: If your treatment involves a listed substance, secure a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) from the relevant anti-doping organisation before use (emergencies excepted).
-
International events: For IDBF World Championships, follow the IDBF Anti-Doping Rules and TUE process.
-
In Singapore: ADS enforces the World Anti-Doping Code. Carded athletes under Sport Singapore’s spexCarding must obtain an ADS-approved TUE in advance. Others may apply retroactively if tested. Visit antidoping.org.sg or email ads@sport.gov.sg for guidance.
Consequences:
Any individual or team found doping will face bans from all dragon-boat activities.
