The SDBA–AustCham 10km Challenge is one of Singapore’s most iconic dragon boat endurance race, bringing together corporate, community, and competitive paddle crews for a unique test of teamwork, resilience, and sporting excellence.
Co-organised by AustCham Paddle Club Singapore and the Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA), the race has been a fixture on Singapore’s paddling calendar for close to two decades, attracting local and international paddlers alike. As the only long-distance dragon boat race on Singapore’s annual racing calendar, the challenge offers crews a rare opportunity to complete a full 10km loop through the Kallang Basin and Marina Bay course — a route typically inaccessible to paddlers outside of the event.
Set against the spectacular backdrop of Marina Bay, the event features 10km and 5km endurance courses that challenge crews beyond traditional sprint racing. Combining endurance, navigation, strategy, and teamwork, the race offers a uniquely Singaporean sporting experience through the heart of one of Asia’s most recognisable waterfront cityscapes.
Over the years, the challenge has evolved alongside Marina Bay itself, with paddlers witnessing Singapore’s changing skyline and urban transformation from the water.
Today, the SDBA–AustCham 10km Challenge continues to celebrate the spirit of dragon boating — bringing together athletes, corporate teams, and the international paddling community through competition, camaraderie, and a shared passion for the sport.
